What If America Built an Economy Around Feeding People, Not Making Profits?

What if we built an economy in which every person was valued equally, farmers were fairly compensated, every family had access to quality food, and nobody paid taxes?

That is the vision behind EDEN.

Today, farmers perform one of humanity’s most essential jobs: feeding the world. Yet food insecurity, rising production costs, and economic pressures continue to challenge families and agricultural communities. We must ask ourselves an important question: Are we organizing our economy to serve humanity, or are we asking humanity to serve the economy?

EDEN proposes a fundamentally different approach.

EDEN would be completely TAX-FREE. No income taxes. No sales taxes. No property taxes. No corporate taxes. No taxes of any kind.

Instead of building society around taxation and private profit, EDEN envisions a nonprofit economic system in which resources and business profits help support the needs of everyone.

Every worker, regardless of occupation, would receive $20 per hour for their labor. A farmer working 40 hours per week would receive $800 per week, or $38,400 annually, with no taxes deducted from that compensation.

Imagine farmers being encouraged to concentrate on producing the best food possible: nutritious crops, healthy soil, responsible water use, and quality harvests. Imagine agricultural training and college education available without tuition, allowing people to learn the skills necessary to grow food and strengthen their communities.

EDEN also proposes that businesses contribute 5% of their profits to a shared EDEN fund. That fund would support essential community needs, including roads, schools, housing, colleges, and infrastructure. The system would need to be carefully designed so that these shared resources could be funded without taxation.

Family farming would have an important place in this vision. Families could have opportunities to cultivate land, grow fresh food, and contribute directly to the well-being of society. The goal would be to reward productive work while making food and other essential resources more accessible.

Of course, such a transformation requires serious examination. We must determine how land, equipment, seeds, fuel, transportation, crop failures, and seasonal labor would be managed. We must establish whether the proposed funding model could reliably support essential services without taxes. These questions deserve practical studies, open debate, and carefully measured pilot programs.

But we should not dismiss the possibility of a better system simply because it challenges the one we know.

The central principle of EDEN is simple: Every human life has equal value, work deserves fair compensation, education should be accessible, and the economy should serve humanity.

We have the knowledge and ability to grow food, build communities, and educate future generations. What we must decide is whether we have the will to organize those abilities around the well-being of all people.

I invite farmers, economists, educators, business owners, and citizens to examine EDEN and challenge its ideas. Let us discuss what would work, what must change, and how a completely tax-free, nonprofit economy could become a practical reality.

The future of farming is the future of food. The future of food is the future of humanity.

Why should we settle for an economy that puts profit first when we can work toward one that puts people first?

I want to share an idea that could change the way humanity produces and distributes its food.

I call this proposal EDEN.

The principle is simple: Every human being has equal value, and every person’s time is worth the same.

Under EDEN, farmers would be paid $20 per hour, just like the KING of Earth. A farmer growing vegetables, a farmer producing grain, and a farmer raising livestock would all receive the same hourly compensation as people performing other occupations.

Why?

Because the purpose of farming should be to provide humanity with the best food possible, not to make a private owner wealthy.

Imagine a society where farmers are encouraged to grow the highest-quality, most nutritious food they can produce. Their compensation would not depend on charging the highest prices or maximizing profits. Instead, their work would contribute to a common purpose: feeding humanity.

EDEN would organize the resources, equipment, storage, and distribution needed to make sure food reaches the people who need it. Its economic system would focus on meeting human needs rather than maximizing private profit.

This does not mean farming would be easy or that food production could be taken for granted. Farmers would still need the freedom, knowledge, equipment, and resources to do their jobs well. EDEN would have to ensure that enough food is produced, preserved, and delivered to everyone.

My vision is a society where people can take pride in their work because they know they are contributing to humanity’s well-being.

The farmer’s time has equal value to the KING’s time. The food they produce has a purpose greater than private profit: feeding humanity.

I call this vision EDEN, and I believe it deserves serious discussion.

I’m James R. Dunne of Slidell, Louisiana, and I’m asking Tucker Carlson to sit down with me and challenge a proposal I call EDEN.

My argument starts with a question that is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore:

What happens to ordinary people if AI, autonomous vehicles and robotics eventually eliminate a substantial portion of human labor?

I believe our current economic system is poorly prepared for that possibility. EDEN is my proposed alternative.

Under my proposal:

• Human labor has equal value, with a standard wage of $20 per hour.
• Individual taxation is eliminated.
• Businesses operate for a defined profit, with profits returned to an EDEN fund supporting society.
• Education and job training are provided without tuition, with students compensated while learning.
• The economy is designed around human life and family rather than maximizing personal wealth.

I’m not asking Tucker to endorse any of this.

I’m asking him to challenge it.

Put the difficult questions to me: How would it work? Who owns what? What prevents abuse? Where does the money come from? Can an economy like this actually function?

My broader beliefs—including my interpretation of biblical prophecy and my claim to a unique role within it—are unconventional and open to the same scrutiny.

I believe that disagreement is precisely what could make this an interesting conversation.

If Tucker is willing, I would welcome a face-to-face interview and defend the EDEN proposal directly.
